Our advisory team’s recent hands-on industry experience keeps them closely aligned with the realities of laboratory operations, enabling them to deliver expert, practical guidance tailored to the accreditation context. Lidia Calabrese
Instructional Designer
Lidia is a highly experienced learning specialist with over 20 years' experience as a trainer, instructional designer, learning solutions manager and training operations manager. She is passionate about quality and beautifully crafted learning design that engages and is effective in achieving the outcomes that participants are looking for. Her previous roles have taken her into many different industries and workplaces - her role before joining NATA Education & Advisory Services was as the CEO of a registered training organisation in the gas supply industry - and much of her valuable insight comes from having worked with diverse organisations with specialised learning needs.
Naomi Aitken
General Manager, Advisor
Naomi Aitken is a dedicated and innovative learning and development expert who strives for excellence and leadership. She is motivated by achievement and guided by strong values, including dedication to client focus and quality. Naomi is regarded as a strong leader with integrity who walks the talk but also allows her team to feel trusted, guided and supported to reach their full potential and in turn deliver exceptional results. Her experience spans over 25 years as a facilitator, change consultant and manager, enabling her to see opportunities for improvement and to challenge the status quo. In her current role as General Manager at NATA Education & Advisory Services, she works with client organisations and course participants to design and deliver learning solutions that realise outcomes that make a difference.

Alasdair is a dedicated learning and development professional with a passion for fostering growth, transformation, and professional excellence. In his role with NATA Education & Advisory Services, he equips individuals, teams, and organisations with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate complex regulatory, technical, and scientific environments effectively. With extensive experience across corporate, voluntary, public, education, and environmental sectors in Australia, and internationally, Alasdair brings a diverse and multidisciplinary perspective to his work. His background as a facilitator, trainer, manager, and consultant, by qualifications in Business, Leadership & Management, Training & Assessment, Vocational Education, Human Resources, and more - enables him to engage with scientific and technical professionals in a meaningful and impactful way. Alasdair goes beyond conventional training by designing engaging, evidence-based learning experiences that enhance professional capability and drive continuous improvement. His insightful and dynamic communication style, combined with a deep understanding of assessment and quality processes, ensures that participants gain not just theoretical knowledge but also practical, applicable skills. Alexander is a highly qualified education specialist with a Master of Educational Studies degree from The University of Queensland where he specialised in curriculum and leadership. Alexander brings a unique perspective to his training which draws on his years of experience as a secondary school teacher. He endeavors to ensure his courses are not only comprehensive and informative, but also engaging and enjoyable. He is a highly regarded trainer in the field and sought after for public and in-house courses where he has worked with a range of organisations to deliver customised courses including several international clients from Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and South Korea, including the use of simultaneous interpretation.
Matthew Lewis
Learning & Development Specialist, Advisor
Matthew is a seasoned education professional with over 15 years’ experience in laboratory management and education. Before joining NATA Education & Advisory Services, he worked with the Victorian Department of Education to update science education approaches and improve learning outcomes through accessible, high-impact online platforms. He partnered with secondary teachers to implement learning management systems that enhanced digital education capabilities, while helping redesign curricula delivery using evidence-based learning theories. Matthew combines his passion for educational innovation with practical applications tailored specifically for testing professionals. His commitment to result-oriented workforce development work hand-in-hand with his industry experience in the delivery of high-quality learning solutions that enhance outcomes and foster continuous improvement. At the heart of Matthew's work is a commitment to adapting education to different learning preferences, making complex information stick for everyone.
